Why Why Why

I bet you think this is going to be a response to some of the comments I received on my Bye Bye Bye post. Well, guess what… …It’s not. I need some time to collect my thoughts and to decide which angle I want to come from, but I do have something in the works. Instead of that I have a few different questions that have been running through my mind. Let me know what you think.

  • Why doesn’t Orange Soda contain any Vitamin C? I mean, this is an honest question, isn’t it? We all know that dark soda may not be the best thing for us, so when I’m doing my best to stay completely caffeine free I always turn to Orange Soda. I don’t discriminate against it in any way either. I like Fanta, Orangette, Orange Crush, Slice and Sunkist. (I usually go for the “diet” variety of each one too.) So, if I’m being good, drinking this wonderful beverage, shouldn’t it contain other substances that would make me feel better for drinking it? Like, I don’t know, Vitamin C? It seems like any one of these products would have a real easy time cornering the market on this issue.
  • We’ve all spent our time eating Ramen Noodles. Whether you are a college student or just down and out this is a go-to dish. The thing that worries me is one particular flavor they offer. I can understand Chicken, Beef, Mushroom and Shrimp flavored noodles. I’ve eaten all of those products, many times. I can understand why these would be flavors offered, but what exactly is “oriental” flavor? Using the same logic as the other ones, I’m not sure if I can continue eating this stuff. (And yes I know, Short Stuff, there is a lot of sodium in this food.)
  • The finale thing I want to touch on is Cheese Cake. Do you know how easy it is to make a no bake Cheese Cake? No, you don’t even need to buy one of those “No Bake” boxes from the grocery store. All you need is a graham cracker crumb crust (you can buy this at the store or make it homemade) two packages of cream cheese, a tub of cool whip, and 3/4 cup of sugar. Cream the cream cheese and sugar together, and then fold the cool whip into the mixture. Put mixture onto crust and smooth out. Place into fridge until you’re ready to eat. You can also use this mixture for a type of fruit dip. My Muddah used to mix this up and make a sort of cookie pizza thing, that had this as the “sauce” and then the toppings were all different kinds of fruit. Good stuff.

So, does anybody have some answers for me? It’s okay if you don’t, I was just checking.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. ~ 3 John 1: 2

  1. I think ramen noodles are my favorite food. Honestly! Haha what is orinetal flavor? I guess it kind of tastes like oriental rugs? Good for you for staying caffeine free! You are stronger than me. ;)

    • Well, I’m not currently caffeine free. Just slammed down a Dr. Pepper. Sometimes the closest thing too you helps you make up your mind.

      I don’t always drink Orange Soda….but when I do…I don’t discriminate.

  2. I love orange soda. Mostly Sunkist, though. Do they still make Mandarin Orange Slice? Because that was good too. Although I don’t think it had Vitamin C either.

Meanwhile I admire your restraint yesterday, Brother Jon. I am not sure I would have had the ability to control myself with the comments by that guy.

    • I’m not sure about that Mandarin Orange Slice. I have seen a kicked up Sunkist, that has the power of the sun or something like that. I think it’s the only one that contains caffeine. I always thought about trying it, but never got around to it.

Thanks. Well, the good thing is, is that people like that don’t sway me in the least, in fact they make me stronger in my faith. But, there are some choice words that I would’ve like to have said. That’s why I’ve decided to wait and think before I finish that “rebuttal” post.

  3. DUDE!!! You went to far with the cheese cake thing! How can THAT concoction be better then a New York style cheese cake?!?! I should come over there and slap you. I’m going to have to re-evaluate if you are that intelligent now…. LoL

I’ll make one the way you describe above and one of my heart attack cheese cake from scratch. You’ll have to have a blind fold so you can’t tell which one is which and I’ll bet almost anything that mine is better….

    • Hey, I didn’t say anything about it being better. I just said is was easy to make. I welcome all types of Cheese Cake. In fact I prefer “heart attack” style foods, I just don’t always have the time or the funds to prepare such things.

  4. Look, I’m going dairy free here, so therefore everyone on the blogosphere needs to stop talking about cheesecake. It’s like torture. Oh, and oriental is my favorite flavor of all the ramen noodle flavors. Hehe!

    • Hey, are you the person who was talking about that Coconut Milk Ice Cream a while back? I got some of that the other day and it was pretty good.

    • Fish Out of Water,
Hello, I have an alternative for you because you can’t have dairy. Take a can of coconut milk (I’m assuming you know what it is and like it because of the coconut milk ice cream reference). Take the lid off with a can opener and set the can in the fridge. Don’t shake or mix and this will solidify into a pudding type substance. Mix this can with a package of Cheesecake pudding mix. Add the cool whip and sugar like Jon suggests, and you have cheesecake. That’s right baby, don’t deny yourself the cheesecake train.
