“There are angels in them there blogs.” – No one, ever. But don’t you think it’s true?
I was really flattered when BroJo asked me to saint some blogs that have good people behind them, partly because this means that I am slightly beatific myself but mostly because I can’t resist a good blogging lovefest. On the docket today are five blogs that mean a lot to not only me but our entire blogging community. Let’s tick them off then go down to the church basement for donuts and juice when we’re done.
(Editor’s Note: Mormons don’t keep donuts and OJ in the basement. Those things are kept in the Gym within the Meeting House (Church Building). The basement is where we keep 55 gallon drums of wheat, rice and beans.)
1. Broken Condoms This blog means a tremendous amount to me. It was among the first five blogs I followed when I started blogging on WordPress, as BC and I were equally far along in our first pregnancies. BC gave me my first EVER blog award and it absolutely made my day. Since the day I started following her, I have been astounded by the grace, patience, and levity she confronts all her obstacles with. Her road has not been simple, but that doesn’t make her shy away from living her life authentically and being the mother and wife her family needs her to be. You know I love you, lady. The fact that Baby O will burst forth soon makes me so happy. (Editor’s Note: Make sure MB doesn’t drink all of your wine while you’re expecting Baby O!)
2. I’ll Sleep When They’re Grown I will never tire of singing the praises of Jells. She is one of those rare people who you come across on the Intertron and think, “Um, WHY can’t you live next door to me?” After you get done shouting at the Universe for this grave injustice, you dig into her nuanced writing and picture upon picture of her beautiful babies. She’s even in with the Pee Wee inner circle, so how can you not love that? (Editor’s Note: Mama Jells once said one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. “Poop on you!” I believe it was in a note left on a car.)
3. Brigette’s Banter Brig is a thinker. She is a writer. She is one who sprinkles her blog posts with sound bites that are always absolutely perfect. But she’s not just a blogger; she is our friend. The always uplifting, thoughtful comments she leaves on our blogs compliment the beautiful person who we see on Mondays when she publishes her Musings and Motivations pieces. Brigette gives us peace. My blood pressure went down a few ticks just thinking about her. (Editor’s Note: She survived that storm in the most graceful way I’ve ever seen, like a boss.)
4. Sincerely, Slapdash Oh, Fish. Or Christine. Or Cat? I’m confused. But that’s OK, because I love her. This is one of those blogs that I read and I feel like I’m getting something for free because there’s no paywall. Seriously, the writing is good and I would probably pay for it if I had to. Fish makes no bones about the struggles of life. She doesn’t pretend that things are happy happy joy joy all the time. Her vulnerability is gorgeous and so is her ability to make me laugh. I have a crush on her. Can you tell? (Editor’s Note: She once almost got Ricky Gervais to retweet her. Keep up the good fight.)
5. Stuph Blog I am the first to admit that my relationship with Twindaddy has not always been all sunshine and lollipops. First, I inserted my giant size 10 foot in my mouth when I made some flip remarks about twins. All jokey-jokey aside, they weren’t exactly kind, and they rightfully rubbed him the wrong way. Then there was the infamous Battle of the Baby Cs where our babies had to defend their titles. But here’s the thing, Twindaddy is a solid guy. He loves his kids and isn’t embarrassed to sing it from the rooftops, which is extremely beautiful. He’s endearing himself to me more and more each day and I am glad that there are men like him lurking on the ol’ WordPress. He makes this big bad world of blogging smaller and a lot more fun. (Editor’s Note: This is what I was having Emily help me with. Do you feel bad now? Probably not.)
May the Bruddah bless you and keep you all. Amen.
I’m Brother Jon and I approve this message.
I want to thank Emily @ The Waiting for doing this for me. These are five tremendous blogs that are very worthy to be “Sainted”. Good thing she said yes. This is way better than anything I would’ve come up with.

Emily! I don’t even know what to say (write) but a heartfelt thank you. You should be among these people — and thank you for giving me more wonderful blogs to explore. Although I don’t consider myself holier than thou, the fact you took the time to do this and listed me among these good and astounding people — I’m just floored. Speechless. As I ramble on and on….you made my day, my friend. Thank you, Emily. Thank you BroJo. And I’ll take Bruddah’s blessing. You’re brilliant — did you come up with Bruddah?? I love ya, Em.
It is absolutely my pleasure, Brig. BroJo nominated you and then I did the write-up. We both heart you so much, as does everyone in WordPress land. Thank you for being you.
Great choices Emily! And you picked a good person to pick them BroJo. So many people are getting sainted. We need to start our own clique.
I have to admit that Jon picked them and then I did the write-up, but he has impeccable taste so I agreed wholeheartedly with each of his noms. I think our clique is already in the works: we are the people the band geeks rejected, the AV club scorns, and all the kids with headgear wouldn’t even take to the prom. In other words, we are bloggers.
We need to join together for one giant hug to cure us of this need for attention.
Oh, if only a hug would do it.

Thanks for the new blogs, Emily. Well, I knew a couple of them, but good to see them listed and I’ll have to check out the others. I didn’t realize storm troopers could be sainted – what do you know?
Strange but true! Thanks, Alice.
Alice, you live in a world of chesire cats, mad hatters, and white rabbits neatly enclosed in a rabbit hold that never ends and you’re going to question St. Stormtrooper? Unbelievable.
UNBELIEVABLE!
I know!!!
I love Jellz, and Brig, and Twindaddy! I don’t know Slapdash or Broken Condoms, but I’ve heard of them. I guess that means they’re famous in the blogosphere! I like that blog quote about angels. It rings true to my soul. Nice work Emily! And BroJo!
I feel super duper honored to be mentioned here, you guys! I woke up this morning (I mean, I did what you could loosely call waking up, considering that my baby doesn’t sleep and therefore, neither do I…but I digress…) and got out of bed, checked my phone and saw this lovely little message saying that I had been SAINTED!? Thank you guys so, so, so much! And even if I don’t speak up enough, I am always snooping around both of your blogs and think you guys are the bees knees too!
(Also someone just said they had totally HEARD of my blog? And I must be famous in the blogosphere?! Wh-wh-whaaaat?!)
Seriously, though! Love you guys! Thanks!
You are way more famous than you can imagine! You also deserve every single bit of laud heaped upon you ;D xxoo
Awwww, Emily, you are TOO TOO kind, lady! Thank you!! XO!
That was a great quote, eh? I think it’s in one of the lost Gospels.
Aww, shucks. Love you, tooooooo.
Awesome! Thanks, Em and BroJo!
Thank YOU ;D Love ya!
Wow. I don’t know what to say. I certainly didn’t expect to find myself or my blog on this list. Thank you Emily for your kind words and thank you Jon for picking me.
Oh, and Emily, I wasn’t upset about the twin remarks. I was just giving you a hard time about it. Oh, and my Baby C came first…
BroJo and I are full of surprises ;D Congrats, TD!
Thanks!

I’ve been Sainted! I’m not ashamed to say I was shocked to see my name on this list, because I totally was. Go over and give it a read. And also check out the other great blogs on this list. A very hearty thank you to BroJo and Emily!!
And a very hearty you’re welcome!
Hey, Emily rules, but you’re not exactly chopped liver, Brother Jon!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a bone to pick with Emily for excluding me…
Kidding! Sort of.
LOL! BroJo picked them and I just did the write-up, so you can position your bone-picking in his direction. You know I love ya, Hookster.
Ermahgerd! Thank you! I’m almost crying and not just because physical therapy was a real bitch today. Seriously, this made my day. Much appreciated.
Our pleasure. We heart you a lot.

OMG, you guys! This is really a great honor coming from two really great bloggers! Thanks, BroJo and Emily!
Emily, you picked some of the very best, the cream of the crop– Brigitte and Jells Are two of my favorites. I love my gals, and that includes you, obvs. (I stole that from Lily)
Aww shucks, love you, tooooo (part two).
Thanks, Emily and BroJo! I’ve been thinking about this all day and it made it better because of your kind words. Broken Condoms has been my homie since way back in the day (blog-wise speaking, of course), but I’m happy to take a gander at my fellow saints that I’m glad have been brought to my attention. You two are the best!! Saint Jells, at your service.
GREAT picks! I love all of those blogs.
