I’ve discussed with myself whether or not I should even write this. I mean, every blogger does it. The “I need to take a step back and collect myself – and maybe get some other things done” post, don’t they? I know I’ve written one, at least once – maybe twice. Well, that is what this post is about.
Don’t worry, I won’t be gone forever. (Probably not that long at all) I just know I don’t feel like writing right now. I’m worn out, in several different ways. I still have a line up of great interviews to get to (starting out with Iago’s Ghost) but those will have to wait.
I feel bitter-sweet about a bit of writing I’ve recently done. It was well received, and maybe the best piece I’ve ever written. I’m not going to share it here…but ask me and I might let you read it.
I don’t have any grand plans, but I was thinking about having some guest spots. I haven’t asked anyone, so if you would be interested in serving up a slice of inspiration on Brother Jon let me know and I’ll send you an author invite.
I do have some good news. Although I did have to reschedule my Temple trip, I have done so successfully for March 2nd. I feel disappointed for having to do this, but I know I will get there nonetheless.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. ~ Matthew 6: 14-15
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ~ 1 John 1: 9

I have seen a lot of these. People have their reasons and they all make sense. You need to do what you need to do.
Thanks Derek. I’ll come visit you here in a minute. Hope all is well.
I think a lot of people are feeling this way, so you’re not alone. I certainly feel it sometimes. I think a lot of us may have had a big burst in January and now, poof, that energy has been eaten up. Here we are in February and we’re all tired. Just do what you need to do! The blogosphere isn’t going anywhere.
That sounds about right. Thanks!
Brett Favreing it huh?
I prefer to call it Michael Jordan-ing. I do stuff in the middle…like play single A ball sometimes.
Come back soon BroJo! Bring vengeance with you.
More vengeance than the third Die Hard.
When you come back, and you are all inspired, you can write your triumphant “returning to blogging” post, and it will be so awesome. I did it once.
I sure hope so. Hopefully I’ll have something exciting to write about.
We all have lives beyond the blog and sometimes that is what is important. I firmly believe that taking care of yourself mentally and physically is the most important job we have. Come back when you’re ready!
Thanks, I agree, and will do.
I hope everything is okay, BroJo. Take your time and come back when you’re ready. You will be missed.
Thanks TD. I appreciate it.
Wah.
Yah
This seems to be going around right now. It’s the winter blahs and lack of sunshine! Take care, BroJo.
Thanks Brigitte, I will do my best.
Would love to read what you’ve written. Will definitely miss your blogging (I echo David “Wah”)
I sent it to you, hope you like it. Thanks. (and…Yah)
Oh NO! Just when I was catching up on my reading.
But I agree, I’ve been dragging too.
Be well, and see ya soon.
V.
Don’t fret….there are almost 500 post for you to choose from.
Thanks Victoria.
I understand how you feel, Brother Jon. I posted something similar last week. I’m trying to find some type of balance between family, writing, blogging, and just life. Hope you enjoy your down time. … Btw – that’s a fantastic picture of you.
Thanks Maddie. It’s from a few years ago…but I think it’s important to stick with what works.
Oh, come on!! That’s like being rick-rolled!
Rick Rolling is awesome. I did it to everyone in my Convert posts…( I think the second one.)
As always, you’re the man! … I was going to say that your picture was charming with a hint of mischievousness. I should have!
That would have made sense. This picture is from when I went on Vacation about three years ago. This was before I converted, so still a drinker…but not yet a problem one. I had enjoyed a few cocktails by the time this photo was snapped.
Rick Rolled on the photo, too!! I give up, and I’m going to bed.
Thank you for the entertainment!
I agree; the winter blahs. I have been working hard to stave them off, but it takes me away from the computer. I WANT TO READ YOUR BEST WRITING THOUGH. There, I said it.
Hey RG! I sent it to you. There, I did it.
Me too…?
Sent.
Thanks BroJo!
We will miss you but do what you need to do, Brotha!!

I know the feeling… i dragged myself through the month of February and posted erratically… I’m pretty beat.
Well…after my surprise visit for Valentines day I found new rejuvenation. Middle of January to the Middle of February was pretty bad though.
