I’m a recent convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized on October 1, 2011. I was able to experience my first General Conference that day. Since my baptism many wonderful things have happened to me, including being called as a Ward Missionary at my local Ward. Because of this I’ve decided to start this blog so I can get the word out over the internet.
This page has been updated!!
How about another update? Alright, here we go.
I have a new calling at Church. This means that I’m no longer a Ward Missionary. Now, as a Member I am still obligated to do missionary work, so the blog will continue. The thing is, I’m not just another LDS convert anymore. I’m so much more than that, and that’s what I intend on showing you from now on. What do you say? Are you with me? I can’t wait to get into it.
Keep up the quest for knowledge. It honestly took me a long while to get through all the gentle phrases like “pray about it” and “What do you think?” and actually get to some of the harder topics.
If you have any questions that you are not getting help with, keep asking or maybe I can help. Just let me know!
Hello Everybody.
Today is April 22, 2012 and I’ve decided to take a little break, for about a week or so. I’ve posted 172 blogs so far, so I think this will do me good. It’s time to have a refreasher.
Great to meet you and thanks for the visit!
~Abundant blessings and peace be with you~
You too, no problem.
Hey, I’m Mormon too. Glad I stumbled onto your blog!
Thanks, looking forward to checking yours out also.
Brother Jon,
Jesus asked me to add you on my blogroll. Please thank White Baby Jesus.

No Problem
Brother Jon, thanks for the follow on my blog, Snide Reply. Sounds like you have an interesting journey.
Thank you. It’s really been something else.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for the follow
No problem, looking forward to reading it.
Wishing you all the very best on your spiritual journey, Brother Jon!
Thanks. It’s been a great year. Looking forward to what’s coming.
Hey Jon, I am a Filipino LDS here. It’s great knowing that.
Cool, glad you came around. I’ll look forward to reading what you have to say.
In case for some reason I don’t make it back on time, Happy (early) Conversion Day!
Thanks! It’s exciting.
Hi Jon. Thanks for visiting my site! I hope your journey continues to inspire you.
No problem, and thank you too.
Wait! So did I miss it? Or did you not share? What’s the “new” calling?
It’s in there somewhere. I’m a Elder’s Quorum secretary.
Fab.
I’m not sure if I’m off base or not but I have a feeling I may be getting a new calling. I’ve been a primary worker for a bit (meaning I just sit and do crowd control but we have a SUPER SMALL primary, like 3 classes total) – but we’ve been hearing there’s a big CHANGE coming.
I’ve been feeling like I’m part of that change…but who knows. I guess time will tell soon! The Presidency has been the same for many MANY years…and they are…..well. My opinion is. You know.
I look forward to change.
Yeah, as soon as they announced that a new Elder’s Quorum Pres had been called I expected something to change for me. I know what you mean. I’m sure it will be great, whatever it is.
Hey Brother John thanks for following my site, its cool, I don’t know anything about the Church of Latter Day saints so this will be interesting.
No problem, looking forward to it.
Thanks, Brother Jon.
Lost mine (brother) years ago, so tag you’re now it.
Nice to meet you.
I think I can handle that. Nice to meet you too.
I have faith you can handle it.
Brother Jon, I’ve decided to follow your blog because you stood up for cottage cheese at Madame Weeb’s hootenanny and I like the way you spell your name. These things say to me you are an honorable man.
Thank you. I really appreciate it. Cottage Cheese needs more defenders on it’s side.

So tell us, awreddy!
Meantime, here’s a cool link to a cool article to cool your cool head. Or haircut, as the case may be. Fun discussion, especially if you’re Joan Osbourne, a one-hit (?) wonder.
I don’t see a link here Gramps
You’re right and I’m an idiot.

Meantime, did you ever tell us what yer new calling was?
Yeah, I’m the second councilor in the Elder’s Quorum now
You poor, poor man. The Lord does tend to teach us by throwing us into the deep end of the pool, doesn’t He?
Allow me, as one who keeps getting taught this way (three times a High Priest Group Leader assistant/counselor, and I still haven’t learned my lesson!) to chuckle like a mad scientist.
heh heh heh
(The mad scientist is Dr Sivana.)
I’m enjoying it so far. We are missing one Counselor, which is tough right now, but things are going good. I taught my first lesson the first Sunday of January….and had to fill in for today’s lesson, which was a great one. My P. Blessing told me I was made for leadership….just hoping I’m up for it.
Oh, you’re up for it. I daresay you’re more qualified than most who have been called to leadership positions.
Thanks…I hope I start feeling the same way soon.
You will — especially when you see others called (or call them yerself) who are even less qualified than you think you are. The Church is full of sinners, cripples, and weirdos – all of us trying to repent, forgive, and thus get better. Seriously, you will never know who among your leaders may have been a drug lord, a hooker, or what. When the Lord forgives, that person is clean – every bit. And, as you’re discovering, He is a darned good trainer too!
I saw this…I’ll have to give it a read.
